  • Thu., June 9 –TEEN ADVISORY BOARD MEETING*
    4 – 5 p.m.
    Help plan teen library events & decide on materials to purchase for the teen collection! Refreshments served. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library
  • Sat., June 11 –JOIN OUR TEEN SUMMER READING CLUB!
    10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    Stop by the library any time to join our Teen Summer Reading Club! You will receive a summer reading club game card, bag and lots of chances to win tons of fabulous prizes throughout the summer! You can also sign up online here: http://ca.evanced.info/lapl/sr/homepage.asp?ProgramID=2
  • Thu., June 16 – “YOU ARE HERE” CULTURAL FAIR!*
    4 – 5:30 p.m.

  • Thu., June 30 – TEEN VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION*
    4 – 5 p.m.
    Learn how to earn community service hours at the library. For ages 11-18 only. Call or stop by the library to sign-up!

*Teen library volunteers will receive an extra hour (or more!) of community service for each teen program they attend.

Fairyland Cosplay Tea Party with Catherynne Valente!

Extra special thanks to the fabulous Catherynne Valente, Feiwel & Friends Books, and Trader Joe’s Encino for making our tea party possible!

Author Catherynne Valente and actor Frank Romeo did a fabulous reading from Valente’s Andre Norton Award-winning book, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making.

Participants were also given fairy kisses (glitter tattoos) and could make their own fairy wands!

Nacho Libre

Join us for Teen Movie Night @ the Encino-Tarzana Library!

  • Thu., May 5 – TEEN MOVIE NIGHT!*
    4– 6:30 p.m.
    Join us for our first teen movie night at the library, featuring “Nacho Libre!” Refreshments will be served. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library
  • Sat., May 7 – Student Smart: SAT Practice Exam*
    10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
    The Princeton Review administers the full length practice exam for FREE. You may want to bring a calculator and a snack. Spaces are limited, so call to reserve your seat NOW!
  • Thu., May 12 – Fairyland Cosplay Tea Party with CAT VALENTE!*
    4 – 5:30 p.m.
    Teens, tweens, kids and parents are invited to join us for an all ages fairyland tea party featuring author CAT VALENTE. Don’t forget your wings! Co-sponsored by Feiwel & Friends & Trader Joe’s Encino
