  • Wed., April 6 – Student Smart: Practice ACT Exam Follow-Up Session*
    4– 5 p.m.
    This session is for those who took the Student Smart: Practice ACT Exam on Sat., 3/26/11, only.   
  • Thu., April 7 – TEEN ADVISORY BOARD MEETING*
    4 -5 p.m.
    Help plan teen library events & decide on materials to purchase for the teen collection! Refreshments served. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library
  • Thu., April 14 – COFFEE & COUPLETS 2: Coffeehouse, Poetry & Open Mic Night!*
    4 – 5:30 p.m.
    Maybe you’re a poet & you don’t even know it! Celebrate National Poetry Month by sharing your work or poems by your favorite writer.  Co-sponsored by Whole Foods Tarzana & the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library
  • Thu., April 21 – TEEN VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION*
    4 – 5 p.m.
    Learn how to earn community service hours at the library! For ages 11-18 only. Call or stop by the library to sign-up.  
  • Thu., April 28 – TRACY WHITE!*
    4 – 5 p.m.
    Meet author, professor and comics creator TRACY WHITE, and learn how to make comics of your own! Co-sponsored by First Second and the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library

*Teen library volunteers will receive an extra hour (or more!) of community service for each teen program they attend.

  • Sat., May 1 – FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    Read and discuss the latest comics and manga!Refreshments and giveaways while supplies last. Sponsored by the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library!
  • Thu., May 13 – TEEN COUNCIL!
    4 – 5 p.m.
    Decide on materials to add on to the Teen Collection and plan events!
  • Sat., May 15 – Student Smart Workshop: FREE SAT PRACTICE TEST!
    10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
    Princeton Review administers the full-length exam for FREE!  SPACE IS LIMITED – Sign up at the Information Desk NOW!
  • Thu., May 20 – SAT EXAM FOLLOW-UP SESSION!
    6 – 7 p.m.
    Pick up your results & receive tips on how to improve your score!  Session is only open to those who took exam at the Encino-Tarzana Library on 5/15.
  • Thu., May 27– TEEN VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION!
    4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
    Need community service hours? Learn how to earn them at out Teen Volunteer Orientation! Must be 13 years old & up to attend.
