New Name, New Leaders!

We had an exciting Teen Council meeting yesterday, where we held our Teen Council Elections and the council decided on a name change!

The council’s new name is:

ENCINO-TARZANA TEEN ADVISORY BOARD

And our new Teen Advisory Board President is Grace O.

New Teen Advisory Board Vice-President is Natalie B.

We will be having a run-off for Secretary/Historian so get ready to vote again soon!

Thank you very much to all who participated and we’re looking forward to meeting any new members!

WE WANT YOU (TO RUN FOR TEEN COUNCIL!)

Uncle Sam wants you

WE WANT YOU (TO RUN FOR TEEN COUNCIL!)

Are you interested in taking on more of a leadership role at our library?

Do you have great ideas for teen events at the library?

Do you have great organizational skills?

If you answered yes to those questions, please email Candice, the Teen Services Librarian, at cmack [at] lapl.org with:

  • the position you would like to run for (President, Vice President, Secretary/Historian),
  • your qualifications and ideas for events (maximum length: 2 paragraphs)

The deadline for campaign statements is October 1st, 2010.

Candice will keep all candidates’ statements  near the Teen ballot box at the Reference/Information Desk.  Campaigning and voting will be held from October 12th to November 18.
November 18th is the day of our next Teen Council Meeting.  Anyone running for a position is expected to attend the meeting so they can present their statement live.  Voting will also occur that day and the votes will be counted at the end of the meeting.
You will receive community service hours for working on this project!
